A CARBON NEUTRAL FUEL: THE BIOMASS PELLET

Our Biomass wood granules are referred to as ‘pellets’ and form a carbon neutral fuel. Germany and the Scandinavian countries especially are the frontrunners when it comes to the use of alternative fuel. The Biomass pellet is used for heating rooms and generating energy. Dutch consumers are also becoming interested in eco-friendly fuels, something which is spurred on by rising fuel prices and the increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions.

The Biomass pellet offers you the opportunity to heat a room without damaging the environment, because the product is carbon neutral. This means that the tree, which is the base material for the Biomass pellet, absorbs the same amount of CO2 during its lifetime as it emits when it is burned. The specially pressed wood granules possess an exceptionally high heating value.

In September 2005, Plomp en zn. bv started the actual production of its own wood pellets, which are partly made from hardwood - something which is quite unique in the world of carbon neutral fuels, given the dimensions. Our pellet is extremely suitable for small and middle sized automatic installations which will automatically supply the furnace with pellets, using a worm wheel. The pellet is very dense and will produce a very manageable and, more importantly, clean burn.
